      Theresia has come a long way since coming to IAA in 2008. She has quickly adjusted and move up in her school classes.  She will tell you that singing and dancing are her favorite pastimes. Every Sunday she will sing a solo or with Maggie and Lydia. She speaks and understands more and more English.  She will even smile at jokes sometimes.

     After the riots of early 2008, there were many refugee camps set up in Kenya.  Nelson (our oldest boy) started a mission to give clothes, food and blankets to his fellow countrymen that were displaced. While in the refugee camp the Nelson’s group found Theresia at Word of Faith Church. She had fled with her grandmother to the camp after losing her parents and their home in Molo.  When Nelson introduced to the camp who he was, Theresia’s grandmother went to the group - and shared her story.   We felt we needed to take her home and give her a family again.
