The Fortunate Traveler:
is a unique shop in Knoxville, Tennessee that gives customers a taste of different parts of the world.
Art, jewelry, market goods, clothing, photography and travel tips can all be found inside. The business was started by Jeremy Curl, a young man who spent three years of his life traveling around the globe. Traveling on a tight budget, with just the essentials strapped to his back, he made his way through North, South and Central America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Along the way he volunteered with different organizations from Latin America to Africa. In June 2007, Jeremy went on his first mission trip to Kenya and visited IAA during the trip. Since then he has been back to IAA several times to work at the orphanage and developed a life-long relationship with the children.
In May 2010, Jeremy married Natalie Corum and introduced her to the children during their honeymoon in Kenya. Natalie is a school teacher and photographer. Natalie and Jeremy started a photography business called Seraphim Photography. While the primary focus of their photography business is children's portraits, they also have a great love of travel photography.
The Fortunate Traveler and Seraphim Photography allow the couple to bring awareness of those less fortunate, share a little piece of the world with others and to raise support for orphans by donating a portion of all sales. You can go to www.fortunatetraveler.net and www.seraphimphotography.com to learn more and for a look into Jeremy's travels and time spent at IAA you can read his travel journals online at www.mytb.org/curl.
